There is no doubt about the Sydney Morning Herald's annual Good Food guide being the biggest single media influence on restaurant patronage. It has the benefit of longevity on its side which the new fangled internet sites - like this little one of mine - cannot compete with. Public trust is hard to earn and difficult to lose and Good Food takes its responsibility seriously, knowing that giving and taking away stars can mean a huge amount to a restaurant's profitability
